• Boneless chicken – 1/2 kilogram (cut into bite sized pieces)
• Onions – 2 (finely chopped)
• Garlic – 6 cloves (grated)
• Ginger – 1.5 inch (grated)
• Gram flour – 2 Tablespoons
• Coconut milk – 400 ml
• Chicken stock – 400 ml
• Turmeric powder – 1/2 teaspoon
• Red chilli powder – 1/2 teaspoon

• Vegetable hakka noodles/Egg noodles – 1 packet

• Lemon – 2 (cut in quarters)
• Fried sliced onions – 1 cup
• Fried sliced garlic – 1/2 cup
• Spring onions – 1/2 cup (finely chopped)
• Chilli oil – 1/2 cup
• Fried noodles – 1 cup
• Boiled eggs – 2 (cut in quarters)
• Fried Peanuts – 1/2 cup


1) Fry the onions till they are soft but not brown.

2) Add the grated ginger, garlic and sauté.

3) Add the turmeric powder, chilli powder and the chicken pieces. Let this cook till the chicken is about 70 percent done and coated with all the spices.

4) Dry roast the gram flour in a separate pan. Once done, mix it with some warm water and add this to the chicken. This shall prevent lumps from being formed.

5) Add in the chicken stock.

6) Bring to a boil, then add in the coconut milk, salt and cook on a low flame until the gravy thickens.

7) In a separate pan, boil the noodles with some oil and salt. Once the noodles are done, immerse them in cold water to prevent them from sticking.

8) To assemble this dish, serve the noodles topped with the gravy. Squeeze some lemon juice and add the toppings of your choice.
